TULI VÄHEKE TAGASI TÕMBUNUD.
Aga asi oli nii tõsine, et kolm päeva püsis Warm Springs Ühendriikide tuletõrjeteenistuse prioriteedina Nr.1.
Paul töötab endiselt Punase Risti püstitatud varjupaigas Warm Springsis, ööseti õnneks on koju puhkama saanud.
p.s. Meist ca 200 kilomeetrit ida poole, Canyon Creek'is põletas loodustuli maha 26 kodu. Nood metsadest ja põõsastikust ümbritsetud väikesed asulad on kesk-Oregoni suves hirmutavalt ohustatud. Üks hea uudis ka - kohalikud kogukonnad toetavad kodu kaotanuid uskumatus ulatuses, omal algatusel, ilma igasuguste kampaaniateta, asja ümber heategevus-kella löömata.  Toit, riided, vajadusel raha.

EVACUATION LEVELS LOWENED ON 52,000-ACRE WARM SPRINGS FIRE
/.../While there's still plenty of firefighting to do, crews (nearly 800 firefighters ) also have begun mop-up work on areas burned by the over-55,000 acre fire on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.
Hundreds of evacuated residents on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation were allowed to return home Sunday as the fire threat to populated areas eased, but most were advised to still be ready to leave quickly in case of changes in the 52,000-acre wildfire, now at 20 percent containment.
Highway 26 reopened Saturday as cooler, less windy weather brought the first signs of progress in the now 5-day-old fire.

WARM SPRINGS IS THE NO.1 PRIORITY FIRE IN THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW, but that will likely shift by Sunday to the Canyon Creek Complex Fire near John Day, which has destroyed 26 homes near Canyon City. Two task forces that were on their way to Warm Springs have been diverted to John Day./.../
p.s. John Day is ca 130 miles East from us.
