Too autojuht tekitas 8 miili jooksul SEITSE tulekollet. 35 soojakraadi, tugev tuul, ning tänaseks põleb ca 70 ruutkilomeetrit Warm Springsi Reservaadis, meist umbes 20 minuti autosõidu kaugusel.
Paul on juba teist päeva 'lahinguväljal', Punase Risti vabatahtlikuna. Warm Springsi kultuurikeskusse panid varjupaiga üles, tule eest evakueeritute tarvis.
Täna pealelõunal tegin meie kodu juurest mõned pildid - kanjon suitsu täis, päike vaarikakarva. Mõttes Warm Springsi rahvaga...ehk saadakse homme tuli kontrolli alla.
NB! Pole üldse vaja muretseda, Warm Springsi tulekahju on meist piisavalt kaugel ning ei ohusta meid mingil moel - suitsu-ebameeldivus muidugi välja arvatud.

WARM SPRINGS WILDFIRE, Oregon
/.../More than 19,000 acres have burned, three structures have been lost and the flames continued to race Thursday across the Warm Springs Indian Reservation, prompting more evacuation alerts and another closure of Highway 26. Fire started early Wednesday afternoon, and was still at zero containment over 24 hours later, as the fire kept growing quickly.
Around 7 p.m. Thursday came word the Central Oregon Conflagration Task Force was being called up so more firefighters could be called int o help protect structures around Warm Springs.
Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, seven separate fires started along both sides of Highway 26 over several miles as sparks flew from the tire rim of a utility trailer being towed by an RV heading south on the highway, officials said. /.../
Paul is working second day already in Warm Springs as a Red Cross volunteer and Shelter Team member. Good job - I'm so proud of him. Thoughts are with all Warm Springs folks. Hopefully firefighters will get fire under control tomorrow.
Actually, we have been really blessed this summer not having too many and too bad wildfires here in 'flammable' Central Oregon. Last year was really bad.
NB! Warm Springs is far enough from where we live so there isn't any danger whatsoever for us. Smoke is very unpleasant of course.
