Tule-olukord Kesk-Oregonis pole paranenud, pigem vastupidi. Kui tahmist, skrolli see artikkel alla kaardini ja vaata noid rohelisi, põlenguid tähistavaid kolmnurki. Meie elame Bendist veidi põhja pool, täpselt keset põlenguid, puutumata maa-alal. Jätkuvalt antakse siin ja seal evakuatsioonikorraldusi. Ilm tänasest alates väheke jahedam, nädalalõpul lootus vihmale, kuid paraku tuleb see koos äikesega ja karta on, et välgutabamused  hakatavad uusi koldeid.

Loodustulekahjudega on veel see asi, et tegelikult peaks neil laskma omasoodu põleda, taimestikus 'tuleohutu' tasakaalu hoidmiseks. Paraku ohustab tuli inimasustust ja eraomandit, niisiis pannakse leekidele pidevalt piir, alustaimestik muudkui kasvab, ühes sellega ka tuleohtlikkus. Kui lõpuks tulemöll lahti läheb, on laastamistöö üüratu, kustutada pea võimatu. Allpool, inglisekeelse teksti järel on mõned teemakohased lingid, Yellowstone'i Rahvuspargi näitel. Mäletan, et millaski, kui tulekahjud Las Crucese ümbrust räsisid, uurisin loodustule-teemat pikemalt.

Wildfire situation in Central Oregon has been only worsening since yesterday. We are safe though. There are bigger roads and farmlands between us and fire. If interested, check out that article and scroll down to the map. We live a bit North from Bend, right in the middle of those green triangles which mark wildfires.

On the other hand, wildfires are part of The Nature. Human interference makes those fires many times worse than they would be if burning themselves out. Now when they keep being put off, the ground covering plants are growing thick and tall. Perfect 'food' for fire when it finally starts...
